A man apparently wearing a nightshirt and pajama pants shot a speed enforcement van in the early morning hours of April 11 and Santa Fe Police are asking the public to help find him.
Santa Fe Police released a video showing the man shooting the van and are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect to call police dispatch at 505-428-3710, Capt. Aric Wheeler said.
The van was struck by bullets three times while parked in the 800 block of Bishop’s Lodge Road, sustaining more than $1,000 in damage to the windshield and roof. Wheeler said the video was taken by the van’s cameras.
Wheeler said the man depicted in the video could face a charge of felony criminal damage to property as well as a charge of shooting at a motor vehicle.
The video shows a vehicle pulling across the opposite lane of the street and parking near the shoulder, facing the van. An older man gets out of the driver’s side. He does not appear to be wearing shoes.
The man points a handgun and fires about five shots before turning around and getting back into his vehicle. The man appears to say something at one point, but the camera on the van does not pick up audio, Wheeler said.
