BREAKING: Crashes, Downed Power Cables Reported Around ABQ

Several accidents are being reported all over the metro area this afternoon as a storm makes its way through Albuquerque.

A collision on northbound I-25 at Comanche blocked the left lane and shoulder at around 4 p.m., according to the ABQJournal.com traffic map. Another crash, with injuries, was reported at about 4:15 p.m. on southbound I-25 at Lomas.

Off the freeways, there was a collision on northbound San Mateo and Osuna with injuries, a crash on westbound Candelaria at 4th St., and an accident involving a motorcycle at the intersection of San Mateo and Candelaria, the map showed.  All three accidents occurred at around 4 p.m.

Some fallen power cables are causing trouble as well on northbound 12th St. at Candelaria. Smoking tree branches were reported, and the street was being closed off.

PNM has reported that 2600 customers in the North Valley were without power as of 4:30 p.m., with an estimated restoration time of about 8 p.m.

Flooding has also been reported in parts of the city, including on San Mateo between Gibson and Central.

This is all apart from southbound I-25 between Tramway and Bernalillo coming to a standstill at about 3 p.m. due to road construction.
