Margy O’Brien’s “A Woodland Walk” is a mixed-media, multilayered book.
Jo Bryant’s “Stampin’ Around New Mexico” is a small accordion book of about 10 U.S. postage stamps. There’s a roadrunner stamp on the cover.
And Dale Harris’ “Wild Elegance” includes her poems and an origami crane in a box.

These are three of the 39 crafted art books created by members of LIBROS – New Mexico Book Art Guild, on display through the end of the month with most art books at the Main Library and some at the Erna Fergusson Library.
This is the first year that the LIBROS exhibit is divided between two Albuquerque libraries. The exhibit title, “Journeys: Inner and Outer,” refers to the crafters’ sources of inspiration.
“Some people have done travel journeys about their trips. There are a number of those journeys in there, including Margy O’Brien’s,” said Esther Feske, a member of LIBROS’ Show Committee.
“There’s also a lot going on with visual journaling, not so much writing. People have been taking visual ideas or combing their words in their dreams or fantasies, including collage, drawing and photo transfers.”
In all, 16 LIBROS members have work in the exhibit. For more information about the organization, go to www.librosnm.org.
