Some links from the web for a fake Monday:

  • Yale’s Dan Kahan has some fascinating new research suggesting that more scientific literacy doesn’t lead to better policy outcomes on questions in which the politics gets “scientized”.
  • The new Case-Shiller home price index shows a 6 percent increase year-over-year in Phoenix. Case-Shiller only does 20 cities, and Phoenix is the closest to us. PDF of the press release here.
  • Meanwhile in Albuquerque, there’s been a bit of an uptick in new home construction, but it’s still at economy-crash levels. (I know, this isn’t supposed to be an economics blog, but housing construction relates directly to water consumption, so I claim it.)
  • And out on the southeast mesa, south of Albuquerque’s airport, there’s a small cluster of houses finally going up at Mesa del Sol, one of the housing. From my Monday bike ride:
