Las Cruces Man Sought for Stabbing Sister

Ronnie Valdez

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of 19-year-old Ronnie Valdez, who is suspected of stabbing his 16-year-old sister during an argument last Saturday morning, police said in a news release.

Valdez is being sought on a charge of aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, the release said.

His sister was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces with a non-life-threatening injury to her chest, according to police.

The girl initially was uncooperative with police, who eventually learned that Valdez had stabbed his sister with a kitchen knife during an argument at their home and fled the area on foot, the release said.

Valdez is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs about 125 pounds, has short brown hair and hazel eyes, police said.

Anyone with information on Valdez’s whereabouts can call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text message a tip at LCTIPS (528477).
