Bernalillo County Accepts Election Results

It’s official.

Bernalillo County commissioners voted 4-0 this morning to certify the June 5 election results. Commissioner Michael Wiener, who lost his re-election bid, wasn’t present.

County Clerk Maggie Toulouse Oliver said the new “vote center” system — in which people can cast ballots at any site, not just one particular precinct — resulted in much fewer provisional ballots than usual. Provisional ballots are issued when there’s a question over a voter’s eligibility to vote.
