This year’s winner of the Albuquerque 48 Hour Film Project is getting a big prize and opportunity.
The filmmaker who wins “best film” will get $5,000 and get a development deal with the cable network truTV.
The Duke City is one of only five cities that will receive the opportunity. The other cities are Denver; Des Moines, Iowa; Richmond, Va. and Detroit.
Liz Langston, co-founder of the project, says that the $5,000 is as big at the international prize.
“It’s a great opportunity for filmmakers in Albuquerque,” she says. “I think it’s going to bring out heavy competition among all the filmmakers.”
The Albuquerque 48 Hour Film Project will take place from July 13-15.
