COME CLEAN! That’s what then Sen. Barack Obama said when President George W. Bush invoked executive privilege.
The similar ATF program under Bush was different. When illegal guns were allowed across the border, the Mexican authorities were notified and efforts were made to track the guns in Mexico. A bad idea.
This ATF program under President Obama allowed illegal guns across the border without notifying the Mexican authorities and no effort was made to track them in Mexico. A worse idea.
After months of evasive maneuvers by ATF and the Department of Justice we still don’t know who in the Obama administration made the changes or what senior officials knew about the changes and when they knew it.
I suspect executive privilege is being invoked this time to protect Obama’s buddies’ butts, not Bush’s buddies’ butts. I say expose all of ‘em, no matter how wrinkled they may be!
