LAS CRUCES (AP) — The city of Las Cruces is slated to break ground on a new transit center.
Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima is scheduled next week to host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Las Cruces Intermodal Transit Center.
The new transit center will provide a central transfer point for RoadRUNNER Transit’s fixed routes in the downtown area.
The two-story, 7,000 square-foot building will contain the city bus services’ administrative offices, a multi-purpose room for meetings and driver training, and customer service counter.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration provided 80 percent of the funding for the planned center.
