Sunscreen isn’t likely to be needed

It’s a throwback to the times of Frankie and Annette.

The PLAY Conservatory is presenting a teen cast in “Go-Go Beach” at 7:30  tonight, 7:30  p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, and 2  p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, at the South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway SE. “Go-Go Beach” is a musical fable about the shift of consciousness in America in the mid-1960s, told in the style of the popular California beach party movies. In this coming-of-age story, a surfer gets into trouble with his girlfriend when he falls for a runaway teen pop star, and with the help of his flower-child friend, he finds the true meaning of love.

Admission is $16 and tickets are available at www.holdmyticket.com or 886-1251. The show repeats on Aug. 10-12.
