Nibbles: Rhubarb and Elliott Cafe

I ordered a cup of soup ($4.75), but it was actually a small bowl of something quite delicious. The soup of the day was veggies (small chunks of carrots, cubed potatoes and spinach) with bite-sized pieces of sweet Italian chicken sausage. A larger bowl would have been a meal in itself.

Then I got a sandwich of house-roasted turkey with apricot chutney and field greens ($8). Served on a ciabatta, the sandwich’s ingredients tasted so fresh. I had a choice of sides and chose the potato salad, which in itself was special. In the cup with the small potato chunks were bits of green onion, capers, green beans, all flavored with thyme, apple cider vinegar and a touch of mayo.

I washed it down with a can of Izze fortified blackberry soda ($1.25).
