Santa Fe To Host Casting Call for ‘Lone Survivor’

Mark Wahlberg will be back in New Mexico at the end of this month.

Mark Wahlberg will return to N.M. for his next movie, “Lone Survivor.” Santa Fe will host a casting call on Sept. 8.

His new film — “Lone Survivor” — is hosting a casting call from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Double Tree Hotel, 4048 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe.

Emmett/Furla Films, LLC will start production on “Lone Survivor” at the end of September working though mid November and will employ at least 170 New Mexico crewmembers and 35 New Mexico actors and more than 1,400 extras.

“Lone Survivor” will star Wahlberg and tells the story of four Navy Seals on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative when they are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. Based on the NY Times best-seller, this story of heroism, courage and survival directed by Peter Berg also stars Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster and Emile Hirsch.

The production is looking for Middle Eastern men, women and children, Hispanic men with beards and men of all races with recent military experience.

Elizabeth Gabel — who has cast for “The Lone Ranger,” “Cowboys & Aliens, “Terminator Salvation,” “No Country for Old Men,” “3:10 to Yuma,”,”Paul” and others, will conduct the casting call.
