Judy Blume is coming to New Mexico — again.
This time, the best-selling author is screening the New Mexico premiere for “Tiger Eyes” at the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival on Oct. 21.
Blume, who wrote “Tiger Eyes” in 1981 was directed by her son, Lawrence, and filmed in Santa Fe and Los Alamos.
The story follows Davey Wexler, played by “Gossip Girl’s” Willa Holland as she and her mother move from Atlantic City, N.J. to Los Alamos after her father’s death.
After lying in bed for days on end and not eating, Davey starts her sophomore year of high school in Los Alamos.
Davey explores the town on her aunt’s bicycle, she goes to a canyon and after climbing down she runs into an older boy who calls himself Wolf — played by New Mexico resident Tatanka Means.
Blume and her son will be in attendance and Blume will sign her books at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.
The Blumes will also join the festival’s screenwriting panel with Ron Bloomberg on Oct. 20.
