Nichole Leon, 21, was found inside a trailer home at the Shady Grove Trailer Park in Silver City early Saturday morning dead of a gunshot wound to the head, the Silver City Sun-News reported.
Her boyfriend, 23-year-old Christopher Calloway, was arrested Saturday evening on an open count of murder, tampering with evidence, negligent use of a firearm and child abuse, the Sun-News said.
He was booked into the Grant County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond, the paper reported.
The two were living together at the time of the shooting, and a 2-month-old child was inside the residence, according to Silver City police. The motive remains unclear, but the two reportedly were arguing before the shooting took place.
