Albuquerque Band Battles It Out To Play Rock Festival

Albuquerque band Skulldron is one step closer to landing a coveted spot on the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, one of the largest touring rock festivals in the country.

The Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival wrapped its third year on Sept. 30 in Albuquerque. Nearly 300,000 people attended the festival that made stops in 30 cities across the country, according to a news release from Ashton-Magnuson Media.

This year’s lineup featured multi-platinum rock bands Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, and P.O.D., along with Adelitas Way, Deuce, Fozzy, Redlight King, Mindset Evolution, In This Moment, Thousand Foot Krutch, Candlelight Red.

Skulldron is one of 28 bands from around the country selected as finalists for the 2012 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands powered by Imagen Records.

The grand prize package includes a spot on the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, the opportunity to record with legendary producer Jay Baumgardner, $10,000 worth of music gear, a professional photo shoot with rock photographer Lisa Johnson, an exclusive editorial feature in Revolver Magazine, a music video by video director Strati Hovartos and other prizes, according to the news release.

Finalists are being evaluated through Oct. 30 by a panel of music industry professionals and artists including Jose Mangin from Sirius XM, Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Zacky Vengeance, legendary producer/mixer Jay Baumgardner, and music industry veteran Bill McGathy.
