Breaking: Preschool’s License Suspended After Sexual Abuse Allegations

The state has temporarily suspended the license of a preschool owned by a man who was arrested Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 3-year-old.

Parents are being notified to pick up their children from Peppermint Stick Preschool. CYFD, the Children, Youth & Families Department, says about 30 children at the school receive state assistance, but the preschool has capacity for about 50 children.

The suspension comes after a 3-year-old accused the owner, Dermot Newman, of sexually assaulting him.
