Nibbles: The Yeller Sub

If brunch is a meal between breakfast and lunch, does that mean lupper is the meal between lunch and supper? It was late afternoon and I hadn’t eaten during the lunch hour.

I ordered a whole (12-inch) Meatball Sub ($7.29) on whole-wheat French bread. The sub lived up to its billing on the menu as being “a generous portion.” It came with plenty of tasty homemade meatballs, melted provolone and, for my taste, not enough of the delicious marinara sauce. I also got an add-on of grilled onions for 70 cents more; I recommend them.

I got the sub and a bottled iced tea ($1.69) to go. I ate one half of the sub sitting in my car outside the restaurant. I knew I’d be sharing. Sure enough: My wife ate the other half of the sub after I picked her up at work. Between bites, she pronounced, “This is great!”
