Armed Man Sought South of Angel Fire

New Mexico State Police are searching south of Angel Fire for an armed man they say held two women at gunpoint on Wednesday and forced them to drive, The Taos News reported.

One of the women was able to escape and provide State Police with information, Lt. Robert McDonald told the Sangre de Cristo Chronicle.

Joseph Rodriguez, 25 was last seen Wednesday on N.M. 434 with Maria Voight, 21, who is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and was wearing an orange shirt, the paper reported. Rodriguez is 6 feet tall, weighs 150 pounds, has hazel eyes and brown hair and several tattoos, including two stripes on his face.

“The whole thing started with Taos and Angel Fire police looking for him for a parole violation,” McDonald told the paper.

Taos County Crime Stoppers says Rodriguez is wanted on a District Court bench warrant for violating his conditions of probation on charges of aggravated fleeing a peace officer.
