Nibbles: Chinshan

As I drove past it often, this newer Chinese restaurant had been calling out to me. A late lunch with my husband and son was the perfect chance. We were greeted with a smile and could see a team in the kitchen waiting for our order.

We ordered from the lunch menu ($6.75 for lunch items or $7.50 for shrimp dishes), which came with a choice of soup, an egg roll and fried rice. My husband ordered the beef with green beans in a black bean sauce, and I chose the standard kung pao chicken (although there was nothing standard about it). Our son had already eaten at school, so he decided he’d have some of ours.

A group of men with Intel badges arrived, and they seemed to know what they were ordering.

Chinshan
LOCATION: 9780 Coors NW, 899-4578
HOURS: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 11:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Sundays

The hot and sour soup was quite good and not too spicy. The lone server was very good and our food arrived quickly. We had more than enough for our son to share. Both dishes were very good, with tender meat (the chicken was all white meat), fresh vegetables and good flavors. The kung pao had a light touch of fresh ginger, the green beans fresh and tender.
