All-district teams have been chosen in boys and girls soccer for the 2012 season. Here are the choices from Rio Rancho Journal area schools:
Boys
CLEVELAND: The Storm only has one player on the first team in District 1-5A voting, and that is junior defender Raymond Cruz.
Junior defender Gage Foster, junior midfielder Justin Schatz, sophomore midfielder Josiah Mahboub and senior forward Parker Jones made the second team. Junior defender Pavel Cortez and senior goalkeeper Liam Fink are honorable mentions.
RIO RANCHO: The Rams has four players on 1-5A’s first team, led by Co-Player of the Year Zach Jeffery, a senior midfielder.
Also on the first team are senior defender Michael Leyba, senior midfielder Brandon Sharpnack and senior forward Josh Lucero.
Senior defender Isaac Chavez, senior midfielder Alec Gonzales, junior midfielder Royce Deller and senior forward Forrest Dunnahoo are on the second team.
Freshman goalkeeper Nate Yeager is honorable mention, as is junior defender William Sanchez.
BERNALILLO: The Spartans did not have a first-team choice in District 2-4A.
There are five on the second team — senior forwards Jacob Kloeppel and Tristan Arnett, senior defender Eduardo Banuelos, junior midfielder Jordan Trujillo and freshman forward Cesar Rodriguez.
Sophomore Jorge Duarte, a forward, is honorable mention.
Girls
CLEVELAND: The Storm has two players named to 1-5A’s first team: junior midfielders Veronica Bradley and Lucy Chalgren.
Junior midfielder Kaitlyn Stephenson, junior forward Brianna Garcia and sophomore forward Audriana Chavez are on the second team.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Martin and sophomore defender Tristin Spooner are honorable mention for Cleveland.
RIO RANCHO: For the Rams on the first team in 1-5A, it is sophomore goalkeeper Krissy Stinson, sophomore forward Brittany Shrader, sophomore midfielder Mariah Baker and eighth-grade defender Santana Orozco.
Second-teamers are senior forward Brianna Hemmert and junior midfielder Makenna Johnson. Senior midfielder Alicia Herrera and junior midfielder Deanna Lucero are honorable mentions.
BERNALILLO: Senior forward Gabriela Ruiz is a first-team choice in 2-4A for the Spartans. Junior defender Yadira Alvarez, junior midfielder Lois Delara and sophomore forward Elysia Chavez are named to the second team.
