Burger Rush owners have opened a second location of their beefy eatery in the former Jersey Jack’s location at 4320 The 25 Way.
Tony Dajani, who owns the Albuquerque restaurants with his brothers, said it’s just the beginning of a larger expansion.
“The plan’s to open four or five of them,” Dajani said.
The initial Burger Rush made its debut in May at 7441 Paseo del Norte.
Dajani said he hasn’t settled on any future sites yet but is looking for locations in Uptown, the West Side and Rio Rancho. The goal is to open a third restaurant by the first quarter of 2013.
Burger Rush allows customers to design their own burgers, starting with the meat. Options include grass-fed ground beef that Dajani said is sourced from a ranch in Belen or alternatives like chicken, turkey or black-bean chipotle veggie patty.
Diners also pick their buns, condiments and extras like cheese, avocado or grilled mushrooms.
The hours at the new Burger Rush are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
