Goodbye, Coronado Crossing; Hello, Fast Food?

Coronado Crossing restaurant has closed and there are currently plans to redevelop the site west of the Montgomery/San Mateo intersection.

Coronado Crossing restaurant is no more, and its former home at 4800 Montgomery NE might not be around much longer either.
Mark Tekin — who co-owns the 7,000-square foot restaurant building west of the Montgomery/San Mateo intersection — said the property is slated for redevelopment. Current plans call for replacing the restaurant with space for a “national chain fast food restaurant” and retail. Tekin would not identify which fast food chain would occupy the building because deals are still in the works.
Albuquerque residents should expect to see changes by next summer, he added.
Coronado Crossing’s owner did not return a message from the Journal, but Tekin said the restaurant shuttered a few weeks ago. Its website is no longer operational and the windows have been boarded up.
Coronado Crossing — which served rotisserie chicken, seafood and more — had only been open since the summer. It took over the site previously occupied by a franchise of Zea Rotisserie and Grill.
