Christmas Closings

DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS: The unemployment insurance call center will be closed Tuesday. The unemployment claims system website, www.dws.state.nm.us, will be available from 3 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the unemployment insurance toll-free phone option, 877-664-6984, will be available 24 hours a day for normal self-service functions. Because banks and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed Tuesday, accounts will be funded when financial institutions reopen Wednesday. This will also result in a delay of mail delivery for the small number of unemployment insurance claimants who receive checks.

Here is the Christmas schedule for government offices and services:

ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Winter break begins Monday. Administrative offices closed through Jan. 1. Classes resume Jan. 8.

RIO RANCHO PUBLIC SCHOOLS: Winter break begins Monday. District office closed through Jan. 4. Classes resume Jan. 8.

CENTRAL NEW MEXICO COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Holiday break Monday through Jan. 1.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO: Winter break Monday through Jan. 1.

CITY OFFICES: Closed Tuesday.

COUNTY OFFICES: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

STATE OFFICES: Closed Tuesday.

FEDERAL OFFICES: Closed Tuesday.

CONGRESSIONAL OFFICES:

Bingaman: Office closed Dec. 21; Udall: Closed Tuesday through Jan. 1. If Senate is in session, office will be closed only on Tuesday and Jan. 1; Heinrich: Office closed Dec. 21, but constituents can still call the office or email requests and opinions; Lujan: Closed Monday through Jan. 1. Voicemails will be checked regularly; Pearce: Closed Monday through Jan. 1.

COURTS:

Federal: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

State District: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Metro: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

POSTAL SERVICE: No mail delivery Tuesday. Post offices closed Tuesday.

ALBUQUERQUE ANIMAL WELFARE: East Side and West Side shelters will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, although the intake desk and reclaims will be open both days. Credit cards will not be accepted for reclaims on those two days. The shelters will resume services on Wednesday. Lucky Paws adoption center in Coronado Center will close at 6 p.m. Monday and will remain closed Tuesday. Lucky Paws will be open on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

GARBAGE: No pick-up Tuesday. Tuesday pick-up will be on Wednesday; Wednesday pick-up, Thursday; Thursday pick-up, Friday; and Friday pick-up, Saturday.

ABQ RIDE: Regular service Monday. No service Tuesday.

RAIL RUNNER EXPRESS: Regular service Monday. No service Tuesday.

CITY LIBRARIES: Libraries close at 6 p.m. Monday and remain closed Tuesday.

CITY COMMUNITY CENTERS: Closed Tuesday.

COUNTY COMMUNITY CENTERS: Closed Monday, Tuesday, and Jan. 1. Centers will close at 5 p.m. weekdays between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

ALBUQUERQUE BIOLOGICAL PARK: Rio Grande Zoo, Albuquerque Aquarium and Rio Grande Botanic Garden: Closed Tuesday.

ALBUQUERQUE MUSEUM: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

ANDERSON-ABRUZZO ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON MUSEUM: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

EXPLORA: Closes at 2 p.m. Monday and remains closed Tuesday.

INDIAN PUEBLO CULTURAL CENTER: Closed Tuesday.

NATIONAL HISPANIC CULTURAL CENTER: Administrative offices open Monday, closed Tuesday. Museum, library, box office, and restaurant closed Monday and Tuesday.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NUCLEAR SCIENCE AND HISTORY: Closed Tuesday.

NEW MEXICO MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY AND SCIENCE: Closed Tuesday.

PETROGLYPH NATIONAL MONUMENT: Visitor Center closes at 2 p.m. Monday and remains closed Tuesday.

RIO GRANDE NATURE CENTER: Closed Tuesday.
