Icy Roads Lead To Numerous Crashes Around Town

Albuquerque police have responded to numerous vehicle crashes this morning, including some with injuries.

Among the crashes:

A vehicle slid into the guard rail on westbound Interstate 40 near Carlisle Boulevard shortly before 8 a.m.. Police are reporting injuries in that crash. At around the same time, police responded to a crash just a few miles up westbound I-40 at the Louisiana exit.

Shortly before 9 a.m., APD officers were en route to a multiple-vehicle crash on Montano just east of Coors. Injuries were reported in that crash.

Another crash with injuries occurred around 9 a.m. at Carlisle and Ridgecrest Drive, according to APD.

Darren White, former public safety boss of Albuquerque, posted this photo of a car in the Bear Canyon Arroyo off Tramway on Monday, Dec. 31.

Police and paramedics were on the scene of yet another crash with injuries around 9 a.m. at Tramway Boulevard and Manitoba. The city’s former chief public safety officer, Darren White, posted the following tweet: “Tramway is all ice. This car went off the road and into Bear Canyon Arroyo” and a picture.
