PETA ‘Lettuce Ladies’ in ABQ Today

Wearing nothing but strategically placed lettuce leaves as a kind of bikini, PETA’s “Lettuce Ladies” will be holding signs that read “Turn Over a New Leaf: Go Vegan” and hand out free Tofurky sandwiches to passersby on the southeast corner of Central Ave. and Tulane Dr. SE at noon today.

The ladies also will pass out copies of PETA’s vegetarian/vegan starter kit and “Glass Walls” DVD to help people change their diets “and resolve to better in 2013 for their health, the well-being of the planet, and animals,” according to a PETA news release.

“Turning over a new leaf doesn’t have to be difficult,” PETA “Lettuce Lady” Leila Sleiman said in the release. “With an abundance of delicious vegan choices now available, there’s never been a better time to make the switch to a kinder, gentler, healthier diet.”

See video of the “Lettuce Ladies” below.
