Indie band brings old and new songs

They’ve been on tour with Dr. Dog, Devendra Banhart, Julian Casablancas and Night Beats and now they are headlining.

California-based indie band The Growlers will perform at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6 at Low Spirits Bar & Stage, 2823 Second NW. The band will perform songs from its upcoming album “Hung at Heart,” which will be released on Jan. 22. The album originally was produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, but he couldn’t bring the album together so it was self-produced. Opening for the band will be The Vacant Lots and Canyonlands.

Tickets are $10 at www.holdmyticket.com or 886-1251.
