Chez Bob is still planning a Nob Hill presence, but progress on the bistro’s second Albuquerque location has been slow-going.
Owner Bob Maw said on Monday that he hopes to be serving breakfast and lunch in part of the former Vivace space (3118 Central SE) by late February or early March. Dinner would eventually follow.
Maw had initially expected the Nob Hill site to be operational by the 2012 holiday season but the process is taking longer than expected. He said he’s still working to obtain the city clearance that is required before he can apply for a beer and wine license with the state.
As I reported back in October, Maw has leased about 2,600 square feet of the old Vivace space. He plans to utilize the space for a jazz lounge, a main dining area and a private dining area.
Unlike the current Chez Bob — located near the intersection of Paseo del Norte and Wyoming in the Northeast Heights — breakfast and lunch will be a major part of the equation. The restaurant will offer a selection of fresh pastries, crepes, quiches and coffee.
The dinner menu should be similar to the existing Chez Bob.
In anticipation of the second location, Chez Bob this week dropped lunch service at its Heights spot. The restaurant, located at 7610 Carmel NE, is now serving only dinner. The hours are 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 5-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
