Perea’s Relocates to Juan Tabo

Perea’s New Mexican Restaurant has moved to new digs.
The venerable Albuquerque restaurant reopened at 1140 Juan Tabo NE on Friday, about two weeks after it closed the doors at its East Central location.
The new site is less than half the size of the old place, Claudia Perea said, but the downsizing will make it more manageable for the next generation of Pereas to run.
“My husband is kind of getting of age, older where he can’t work that much,” Claudia said Friday. “He’s really turned it over to (the children) and is just helping them out to get started here.”
The menu remains the same at the new place as does the phone number, 293-0157.
Perea’s is open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday.
