Suspected Bank Robber Arrested

City police arrested Anastacio Amador, 39, of Albuquerque on Monday in connection with Saturday’s robbery of the Bank of Albuquerque at 3301 Coors NW.

Amador was arrested during a traffic stop, police said.

Witnesses said a man entered the Bank of Albuquerque branch about 12:30 p.m. Saturday and handed a demand note to a teller. He then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

Amador is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque today, the FBI said.
