New Cold Weather Equipment Useful In Rio Rancho

Plows and spreaders the city of Rio Rancho purchased after weather-caused traffic snarl-ups last winter was put to use keeping roads throughout the city clear.

Rio Rancho Public Schools spokeswoman Kim Vesely said they had no reports of school bus problems related to the weather. Schools were on a two-hour delay this morning.

The city’s Fire Rescue Department reported they have responded to a few minor traffic accidents, a couple of calls related to broken pipes and a couple of calls related to slips and falls, city spokesman Peter Wells said.

Police in Rio Rancho reported nine non-injury crashes between noon and midnight yesterday and one non-injury crash this morning.
