Using wind power to dismantle nukes

There’s something politically resonant about the National Nuclear Security Administration’s latest announcement:

The National Nuclear Security Administration awarded Siemens Government Technologies a contract to build the federal government’s largest wind farm at Pantex Plant, a $55 million, five-turbine facility expected to save taxpayers $2.9 million yearly in energy costs.

Pantex, outside Amarillo, is where the NNSA refurbishes old nukes for continued use. It’s also where the scrap-heaped ones get dismantled.
