Would-be Robbers Demand iPod

Two McKinley Middle School students told school officials this week that they were approached near campus by a stranger who showed them a gun and asked for a student’s iPod.

Albuquerque police are investigating the incident, and a letter was sent home Friday to McKinley parents. According to the letter, the students were in the parking area near the city’s McKinley Community Center after school when two men and a woman in a white, four-door car approached them. According to the students, the people in the car showed a gun and asked for the iPod. The students got away uninjured and reported the incident.

According to the letter, there were extra patrols around the school today and officials will continue to be vigilant.
