Nibbles: Wolfe’s Bagels

Wolfe’s Bagels
LOCATION: 6241 Montgomery NE (on the northeast corner of the intersection with San Pedro), 342-9828
HOURS: 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays

The restaurant’s motto is “The Best Bagels Above Sea Level.” Based on what I ordered I think they’re right. It was midday but I got a breakfast sandwich, the No. 2 Veggie and Egg ($4.95). It came on a three-seed bagel with mild green chile, red peppers, red onions, spinach, mushrooms and my choice of cheese, which was provolone.

For my son, I ordered a Southwest Turkey Melt ($7.95). The turkey came with mild green chile and provolone on a multiseed bagel called “The Works.”

We loved our to-go sandwiches, which were served on lightly toasted bagels. We only wished the chile was hotter. Each sandwich came with a side (we both got potato salad) and a bottled drink (I got apple juice and he got cranberry-grape.)

The service was friendly and fast.
