Structure fire in Montgomery Park area

Albuquerque Fire Department units were dispatched to the 3000 block of Maderia Dr. at 11:15 p.m. yesterday in response to a possible residential fire call.

According to a report from Captain Jason Garcia, the call came in with information of a possible burn victim inside the structure.

The report states, as fire crews arrived on scene they immediately forced entry into the home to perform search and rescue with fire attack. The crew did not find any victims during the primary search.

The fire was quickly put out, containing the fire to the garage, which was the area of origin. No injuries were reported.

At the time of the report, fire crews were still on scene performing salvage and overhaul, making sure there is no hidden fire in the walls of the structure.

According to the report, the cause of the fire is still unknown at this time, and further information will not be available until AFD completes the investigation.
