Polls are now closed in today’s school board and bond election, and the county clerk has posted the results of early and absentee voting. Here’s the web site for your full perusal.
The highlights are this: The funding questions seems to be passing by a mile, with 70 to 80 percent of voters in support of the questions (support is stronger for the bond question than the mill levy question).
Totals could change significantly after the election-day totals come in. But early results have Candido Arturo Archuleta Jr. ahead in the race for District 3, followed by incumbent Lorenzo Garcia and trailed by challenger Leah Persons.
In the four-way race for District 6, challenger Don Duran is in the lead, followed by incumbents Paula Maes and David Robbins. The two are running against each other due to redistricting. Trailing in that district is Angela Gonzales Carver.
Early voting also shows a significant lead for incumbent David Peercy in District 7, who is challenged by Larry Langley.
Stay with me for updates. I’ll be in the office until they call the thing.
