School Board Election Memory Lane

As I was driving to work this morning (later than usual, because I’ll be staying late to wait for election returns). I was struck by the fact that it’s a beautiful, warm day outside. The thermometer in my car said it was 57 degrees, and the sun is shining, all golden-like.

That made me think of the last school board election I covered, in 2011, when a snowstorm and bitter cold temperatures descended on New Mexico. School was canceled, but the election carried on, with ultimate turnout of 3.2 percent.

Ok, so that day it was really cold and unpleasant in Albuquerque, and everyone was being advised to stay off the roads. So folks had some excuse for not voting. Not so today. It’s gorgeous out there, Albuquerque. Please vote.
