Some Props for School Grades

I’ve written extensively in the past about criticisms of the state’s A-F school grading system. I’ve written that the grades are strongly linked to poverty, that some “A” and “B” schools also made the list of schools that need focused improvement, that a group of scientists and mathematicians can’t replicate the grades, and that grades changed dramatically from one year to the next.

But it’s worth noting that a blogger for the Data Quality Campaign gave New Mexico a shout-out this week, saying the grades stand out among all the states she examined as easy to understand and user-friendly. What do you think? Have you used the grading site, and what were your impressions?
