Albuquerque firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at 9623 Towner NE shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday and extinguished it within five minutes.
Some occupants, who were not identified, were able to get out of the house. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called to give assistance to the victims.
Arriving firefighters found a fully involved fire in the kitchen, but it was quickly extinguished, according to a department email.
The fire did extend to a portion of the attic, but no further.
The fire was apparently caused by too much grease, which had accumulated on the stove and ignited.
