Boy Falls Through Skylight at Middle School

A boy was seriously injured Monday when he fell about 35 feet through the skylight of the gym at Taylor Middle School.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s spokesman Aaron Williamson said the boy and three other youths were on the roof of the school when one boy stepped on the skylight and fell. He said there is no evidence the boys were trying to break in, and were just “horsing around.” School was not in session today, due to the Presidents Day holiday. The school located on Guadalupe Trail NW.

Williamson did not know the exact age of the boys, but said they were middle school aged, and deputies are not currently planning to charge them with a crime. He did not know the extent of the boy’s injuries, and said only that they are “serious.”
