Bernalillo bank robbed around noon

Authorities are searching for a man believed to be in his late 20s, early 30s who robbed a bank in the town of Bernalillo today.

Just before noon, the man walked into the Wells Fargo branch at 239 U.S. 500, according to an FBI news release. Witnesses said the suspect, wearing a blue pullover shirt with a zipper and dark blue jeans, handed a teller a note demanding money, and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The man was described as an American Indian, about 5-feet, 6-inches tall, with a stocky build and close-cropped hair. He also had dark tattoos on his neck.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the case is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI office at  (505) 889-1300 or the Bernalillo Police Department at (505) 891-7226. The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading up to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
