a bad day gets worse

An Albuquerque police officer walks Steven Salazar, 23, to a patrol car on Monday after Salazar locked himself inside the bathroom at Freeway Liquors near Interstate 40 and Second NW. Police said Salazar fought briefly with a police officer at the General Dollar store near Central and Tramway NE earlier on Monday, then showed up at the liquor store where he tried to cut his wrists and then swallowed an unknown liquid in an apparent suicide attempt. Salazar is facing charges of battery on a police officer and related crimes, police said. (Roberto E. Rosales/Journal)
