The Justice League of America is planting its flag in the Land of Enchantment.

DC Comics created a special edition of “Justice League of America” with a New Mexico flag.
On Feb. 20, DC Comics presents “Justice League of America” — a new ongoing comic book series, where the superstar creative team of writer Geoff Johns and artist David Finch will bring unlikely heroes such as Green Arrow, Katana, Martian Manhunter, Simon Baz, Stargirl, Vibe, Hawkman and Catwoman out of the shadows and into the spotlight.
To make this launch fun for comic book readers throughout the country, DC Comics has created special “Justice League of America No. 1″ variant covers in the spirit of the iconic “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” photo.
The main JLA characters are posed holding a flag for each of the fifty states and Puerto Rico.
The Justice League, a team made up of the World’s Greatest Super Heroes, has successfully handled threats too massive for any single hero for years. But now, the U.S. military has decided to form its own league under the watchful eye of Col. Steve Trevor.
This winter, the world’s most dangerous heroes will unite as the Justice League of America to take on a mission so menacing that not even the Justice League can handle it alone.
“They’re underdogs who have everything to prove and something to lose,” says Johns.
