Lewd Behavior Near La Cueva

A letter has been sent out to La Cueva families and posted to the La Cueva website, alerting families that a man exposed himself and made lewd comments to students. Students and families are asked to be on alert.

Here is the letter:

Feb. 21, 2013

Dear Parents and Guardians:

For the second time in two weeks, a La Cueva student walking home from school said she came in contact with a stranger in a car who was exhibiting lewd behavior.

The student said she was just east of the school around 1 p.m. Wednesday when she noticed a fully exposed man in a parked car along Wilshire. The stranger tried to ask her about the school parking lot, but she walked away. She reported the incident to police today. The student wasn’t injured but was frightened.

The car was described as a light blue, four-door Toyota. The driver was described as having dark skin and a medium build in his late 20s to early 30s.

Last week, a student walking in the same area said she was approached by a stranger with a similar description who rolled down the car window and made lewd, suggestive comments. That car was small, dark green with four doors.

As I told you last week, we take these incidents very seriously. We continue to remind students to be especially vigilant as they walk to and from school, and we strongly discourage them from walking alone.  Police are stepping up patrol in the neighborhood, and we ask that you please contact us if you have questions or if you have any additional information to share.

Sincerely,
Todd Resch
Principal
La Cueva High School
