Grateful great goes acoustic

Bob Weir was just 17 when he joined the Grateful Dead in 1965.

Flash forward nearly 50 years and the legendary guitarist is still performing. He will put on an acoustic show with Jonathan Wilson at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 W. San Francisco in Santa Fe. In addition to writing a number of Dead staples such as “Truckin’,” “Sugar Magnolia” and “Cassidy,” Weir has enjoyed a long and affluent music career. His band RatDog is increasingly active and he has collaborated with Bob Dylan, bassist Rob Wasserman and pianist Bruce Hornsby.

Tickets are $54 at www.ticketssantafe.org or 505-988-1234.
