New Mexico heroin, meth ring busted

SANTA FE, N.M. – Authorities say they have busted up a heroin and methamphetamine operation in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

New Mexico State Police announced Friday that authorities have charged 12 people after a four-month investigation. Authorities say the Albuquerque and Santa Fe residents face a number of state and federal charges linked to the alleged ring.

The Region III Narcotics Task Force, a task force made up of New Mexico State Police, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department, and Santa Fe City Police Department, say agents seized two pounds of heroin with an estimated value of $40,000, along with 100 grams of methamphetamine.
