Star party Saturday on Albuquerque’s west side

The Albuquerque Astronomical Society is holding a free star party Saturday evening (March 2, 2013) beginning at 7 p.m. at the Albuquerque Open Space Visitors Center. From the news release:

The event will begin with a welcome, followed by lectures by Dr. Barry Spletzer–7:00 on amateur astronomy and 8:00 on comets in general and the ones coming this year in particular–and indoor activities. Outside, TAAS members and telescopes will offer observing throughout and Kevin McKeown will give a laser constellation tour…observing could continue past 9:00pm, if the skies cooperate.

More info on TAAS web site.
