Cottonwood Mall adding three shops this spring

Children's apparel retailer Crazy 8 is among the new tenants joining Cottonwood Mall this spring. Francesca's and Shoe Palace are also coming and will take over the old Gap space.

Children’s apparel retailer Crazy 8 is among the new tenants joining Cottonwood Mall this spring. Francesca’s and Shoe Palace are also coming and will take over the old Gap space.

Cottonwood Mall isn’t wasting any time filling the Gap.

The storefront vacated last week by apparel chain Gap will be home to a pair of new stores by this spring, the mall’s management company, Simon Property Group, announced Thursday.

Francesca’s, a boutique chain geared toward young women, will take over 1,056 square feet of the old Gap space.

Francesca’s will maintain its existing shop at ABQ Uptown, another Simon property, according to a Simon spokesperson.

Shoe Palace, meanwhile, will move into 3,503 square feet of former Gap space. Shoe Palace specializes in athletic footwear and clothing for the whole family, according to its website.

The mall also plans to add a new Crazy 8 location to its tenant mix. Crazy 8 — a Gymboree Corp. brand — sells children’s clothes for boys and girls from newborns to size 14. It will take over the 1,943-square-foot space formerly occupied by Cache.

As I previously reported, Gap closed its Coronado and Cottonwood mall stores this year while opening a new location at ABQ Uptown.
