Albuquerque residents eager to shop the city’s first elevated Target store can do it a few days earlier than advertised.

The new Target at Uptown will open its doors to customers starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 6.

It’s a soft opening, according to the store’s manager, though the store will be fully operational. The official grand opening is still set for March 10, the date that had been posted on the side of the building at the Louisiana/Indian School intersection.

The 155,000-square-foot, single-level store sits above a covered, street-level parking lot.

The new store will feature the usual Target array plus an “expanded selection of fresh grocery, including fresh produce, meats and bakery items,” according to a press release. There is also an in-store pharmacy and Starbucks.

This will be Albuquerque’s fifth Target store.
