Malt shop relents, will pay minimum wage

A consultant working for the Route 66 Malt Shop says the restaurant intends to comply with Albuquerque’s new minimum wage ordinance.

Josephine Martinez de Nunez of Consular Inc. said the malt shop also has offered an ex-waiter who complained about not getting the new minimum triple his back wages to settle the dispute.

She also disclosed that the city has sued the restaurant on behalf of the former waiter.
