A Closer Look: Santa Fe boys at Capital

In Thursday’s District 2-4A semifinals, featuring the Santa Fe boys at Capital, the Jaguars won 86-58 to advance to tonight’s (3/1) title game versus Bernalillo.

In rebounding, the Jaguars dominated the Demons, 30-16, including a 13-6 advantage on the offensive glass. … Leading rebounder for Capital was Taylor Martinez with nine boards. Teammates Michael Lopez and Christian Martinez each had six. … Rebounding leader for Santa Fe was Jordan Booth-Homer with six.

From the field, Capital hit 31-of-53 shots from the field, including 7 for 13 from 3-point territory. … Santa Fe completed 19-of-42 shot attempts, including 4 of 10 from beyond the arch. … From the foul line, Capital was 17 for 26, while Santa Fe was 15 for 24. … The Jaguars leading scorer was Lopez, who was 11 for 17 from the floor for 27 points. Teammates Taylor Martinez and Christian Martinez each had 18 points. … Tres Chaires paced the Demons with 27 points on 7-for-11 shooting. He was 3-3 from beyond the arch and 10 for 11 from the foul line.
